Midtown Boys Bear Down on Studies
Thirty-six boys, four coaches and several staff from Midtown Center attended the second day of the Chicago Bears' training camp in Bourbonnais on Saturday, July 26. The boys were selected from more than 400 students attending the seven-week summer program at Midtown based on several criteria including academic performance and sportsmanship.
Roberto Garza, #63, starting center for the Bears' offense, made a special appearance after practice, signing autographs on shirts, shoes, and training camp programs. Special thanks to Brian McCaskey, senior director of business development for the Bears, and Jeff Bennett, a member of Midtown Educational Foundation's Circle of Champions, for making the field trip one the boys will long remember.
