Friends of Midtown or Metro
Who is a Friend of Midtown or Friend of Metro? Someone who believes in Midtown and Metro’s mission, recognizes its impact… and commits to a recurring gift – monthly or quarterly – to support Midtown & Metro students. No matter how large or small, your gift will help us build the foundation we need to serve Midtown & Metro's kids today and tomorrow.
Here are some examples of what your gift of $5, $10, $25, or $50 a month can do:
Provide support for a student to attend the program;
Help pay for a character education class; or,
Support enriching field trips that expose students to Chicago’s world of opportunity.
Circle of Champions
YOU HOLD THE KEY TO UNLOCKING A CHILD'S POTENTIAL
The Circle of Champions is a leadership annual giving club established by Midtown
Educational Foundation in 2008 to provide a steady, reliable source of funding for MMAC’s after-school and summertime programs.
You can play a major role in the life of an underserved child by joining the Circle.
BECOME A CHAMPION TODAY
Membership in the Circle of Champions entails a minimum unrestricted gift of $1,000 or more, above and beyond giving to MMAC special events. All Circle gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
Since character education is a key component of MMAC programs, Circle giving tiers reflect the programs’ emphasis on virtue:
The Perseverance Level ($20,000 and above) – Students at Midtown and Metro are encouraged to persevere against all odds in overcoming obstacles. Your gift at this level helps strengthen them for the task.
The Courage Level ($10,000 to $19,999) – MMAC students and their families exhibit the virtue of courage every day. This level reflects their courage and provides support to sustain it.
The Loyalty Level ($5,000 to $9,999) – Your loyalty to Chicago’s urban youth through MMAC helps inspire students to transform their lives, families, and communities for the good.
The Integrity Level ($2,500 to $4,999) – At Midtown and Metro, kids are inspired to be better students and better people. They grow in integrity and spread it to others.
The Hope Level ($1,000 to $2,499) – Given the right tools and guidance, Chicago kids from low-income families can succeed in school, work, and life. Your gift at this level demonstrates your hope in children from underserved communities.
Circle benefits are as follows:
A special, one-time gift at the time of your Circle commitment, a private tour of MMAC programs, recognition in print (unless anonymity is requested), and the immense satisfaction of helping at-risk students reach their full potential.
EXAMPLE IMPACTS:
$1,500 donation covers after-school programming for one child.
$3,000 donation covers after-school & summertime programs for a full year for one child.
$5,000 donation covers three students in the apprenticeship program entering their sophomore, junior, and senior years in high school. Students are offered hands-on project work from experts in their field, listen to career speakers, and go on a field trip.
Each year, on your enrollment anniversary due date, we will remind you of your pledge.
