Summer lunch-time for our 3rd-5th grade Midtown One-on-One program and staff.

free breakfast & lunch for summer campers as part of midtown-metro’s commitment to leverage resources to benefit its families

When Midtown Achievement Center for boys’ (Midtown) summer program kicks-off on June 18, there will be a new benefit for families, especially those struggling with food insecurity over the summer. In partnership with The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Midtown's Summer Program for boys has been approved to provide FREE nutritious breakfast and lunch to all participating 3rd-grade to 8th-grade students.

These meals will be provided each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday is an exception because it is Midtown’s weekly day of offsite field trips and excursions. Given this is the first time this program has been attempted at Midtown-Metro, and the vast logistical needs required, this program will be tested at Midtown this summer and hopefully roll out at the Metro Achievement Center for girls next summer.

At Midtown-Metro, we are deeply committed to serving and providing for the families that attend our programs. This initiative perfectly reflects our vision and values, ensuring that Chicago's youth continue to be guided along pathways of success, with a smoother path made possible through care for their physical and mental well-being. We believe that no child should ever have to worry about where their next meal is coming from, and they should come to the program confident and nourished so they can learn and grow to their full potential.

Join us this summer as we provide enrichment programming that feeds both the body and soul of our students.
