Afternoon rains may have prematurely stopped play, but that didn’t prevent nearly 200 golfers participating in MEF’s 22nd Annual Golf for the Kids Outing from having a great time at the Schaumburg Golf Club on June 29. The “19th hole” was packed; Anthony Adams, co-host of Inside the Bears on Fox, entertained with his own unique brand of humor; and Chuck Swirsky, radio voice of the Chicago Bulls, served as dinner MC. Thanks to generous contributions from sponsors and individual supporters, the event raised more than $164,000 to benefit summertime and after-school programs for more than 1,000 at-risk kids in grades 4-12. 4th Special thanks also to Hub Arkush of Chicago Football Magazine, a long-time fan of Midtown, who produced and narrated a video highlighting MEF’s highly effective work with Chicago urban youth.
