WRITING

Test your knowledge of the parts of speech and create silly stories with Mad Libs printables. Take this a step further and play with a younger sibling or cousin and try to teach them about the different parts of speech.

MATH

Practice converting fractions by finding a recipe for a sweet treat. Triple the recipe and make three batches. Then send the treats to friends or family as an act of service. You can get some extra practice with this lesson from PBS.

SCIENCE

MISCELLANEOUS

Research three colleges that you have heard of and learn as much as you can about each school. How big is the school? What majors do they have that interest you? What sports do they have? Do most students live on campus or commute? What is the cost of tuition, room, and board? What is student life like at the school? Research this day in history to see if anything important happened. Learn a few facts about the historical event. Then write a historical fiction short story set on this day in the past.

MATH

SCIENCE

Brains On! is a podcast about science co-hosted by kids. Choose an episode of the podcast to listen to and go on a walk with a family member. Listen to the podcast out loud and when you get home, discuss it.

Write a letter to yourself to open one year from now. Use the conventions propper to a letter with an appropriate date, greeting, body, closing, and signature. Address is properly to yourself and hide it somewhere in your room to open one year from now. Describe what you have done and how you have been feeling during the quarantine.
