Make a difference in a child's life!
Our volunteers come from schools and businesses from all parts of
Chicago. Over 350 men and women dedicate their time weekly to share their talents with Midtown's inner-city boys and Metro's inner-city girls, thus contributing to Midtown Educational Foundation's 33:1 volunteer to staff ratio. While most volunteers serve as tutors and mentors, others help as fine arts teachers, career speakers, and field trip chaperones. With the generosity of volunteers from companies and universities such as the Walgreen Co., JP Morgan Chase, the
University of
Chicago, Merrill Lynch and the
University of
Illinois at
Chicago our students are challenged to form both good study habits and good relationships.
College students and professionals...
Midtown and Metro provide the perfect opportunities to donate your time and talents to help at-risk youth to achieve academic and personal growth in an environment of friendship and support. As a volunteer, you provide one-on-one attention and serve as a successful adult role model by helping a student with schoolwork and goal-setting.
Why become a volunteer?
- You're Needed. You make a difference in the life of an inner-city student in a five-star program!
- You're Rewarded. You learn relationship and people skills, and will love seeing your student smile!
- It's Convenient. You spend just an hour and a half each week giving time on a day of your choice!
